How do I take a course over the internet?

How does the audio format work?
1. You are mailed, via first-class mail (allow 3-5 days for first-class mail and
48 hours for order processing), a Course Content manual, CD, and an Answer Booklet.�
2. Listen to the CD and read the Manual.
3. Answer the questions in

4. Return the Answer Booklet to the address on the cover
of the Answer Booklet via first-class mail.
5. You will be mailed a Certificate

You have
twelve months from the date of purchase to complete the course.
Are courses I ordered long ago still valid for CE credit?
Yes; there is no continuing education credit expiration for the courses.

The questions in the
Answer Booklet are simple easy-to-answer questions. They are not intended to trick
you.�Don�t be alarmed if they seem �too easy�. If you really want to be sure of
your score, you can get anonymous, unlimited free trials.

#2. Answer Booklet
I
did not get 100% on the web, when I know all of my Answer were correct. Or, my
Answer Booklet numbers do not match the CD or Manual numbers, or does not match
the internet.
For "Ethical and Cultural Issues Arising from the
Psychology of Terrorism", the sequence of questions in the Answer Booklet on the
internet is different from the order of questions on your hard copy. Therefore,
rather than just copying a set of letters from your hard copy Answer Booklet,
make sure the questions are in the same order, as they appear on the Intenet.
When taking the course on-line, do I need to answer all of the
questions at once?
No, you do not need to answer all of the questions
at once. If you choose to complete the course in more than one session:
1.
Print a hard copy of your Answer Booklet (or write them down).
2. Re-enter
these answers when you return to the site.
3. Then when you have completed
all answers, click the "Check your Score" button.
4. Enter in your order number to get a certificate.
Your answers will not be
saved. See the reason for not saving your answers in the next question.
Will my answers be saved from one work sessions to the next?
1. No, your answers will not be saved from one work session until the next. That
is why we recommend that you write down your answers or print a hard copy of your
Answer Booklet between your work sessions.
2. The reason we did not build
this "save answer" feature into the program is because this feature requires a
"cookie" type of programming code to reside in your computer. Many computers will
not accept "cookie" type programs. Thus, many users would not be able to access
the Answer Booklet if we built in this "save answer" ("cookie") feature.
Can I FAX you my Answer Booklet?
No, because of
our State Continuing Education Licensure Agreements, we cannot receive Answer
Booklets via FAX.�
I forgot to fill in my license number or I
put in the wrong license number on my Answer Booklet.
That�s not
a problem; your correct license number can be written on your certificate by you.
However, your order number verifies that you have paid for the course and
completed the course with a score of 80% or higher.
Do I need
to mail in my Answer Booklet if I get the certificate online?

No, do not mail the Answer Booklet, if you received your certificate online.
2. Your online record of successful completion is electronically transferred to
our Order Data Base.

3-5 days mailing time for your Answer Booklet to get to us and 3-5 days mailing
time for the certificate to get to you, in addition to the 48 hours processing

Can I read my answers to you over the phone to your Order Taking Service
and fax me the certificate?
1. No, because of our agreement with
State Continuing Education Licensure Boards, we cannot accept your answers over
the phone. We need a hard copy or electronically transferred copy of your Answer
Booklet.�
2. If you have problems with internet access you might use a public
computer lab at a print shop or local library.
3. We cannot accept a faxed
Answer Booklet.
Is the certificate I just printed on my computer
valid?
1. To be considered valid your certificate must have your
name, the date issued, the course name and how many CE�s were earned by completing
the course
2. The order number on your certificate verifies your payment
and a passing score of 80% or higher.

How
do I write a case study for the "Personal Reflection" Journaling Exercises?
1. If you have a hard copy of the course, page one or two of your Course Content
Manual contains a description of the criteria for the case study.
2. If you
are accessing the course on this website

c. Scroll past the "Audio Transcript" to the "Manual of Articles"
first section for the Explanation of the "Personal Reflection" Journaling Exercises
case studies.
3. These "Personal Reflection" Journaling Exercises
are not sent to the Healthcare Training Institute due to the confidential nature
of their content.
I had problems printing out the Course Content.
1. Our documents are in HTML, which is the most standard and acceptable
format for printing.
2. Highlight the text only without the sidebar. Push Control-P to print.
3. Click "Selection" to print only highlighted text. Click "OK"
In the evaluation scale found at the end of the Answer Booklet is 1 low
or high?
1 is low and 5 is high.
In "Ethical and
Cultural Issues Arising from the Psychology of Terrorism" on the internet I only
get a score of 75%!
The problem with EC is the last three questions
in the hard copy of the older Answer Booklet are in a different order than they
appear in the web copy of the Answer Booklet. This inconsistency is noted in the
Web version of the EC Answer Booklet. So, if you copy letters only from your hard
copy Answer Booklet without reading the web questions, your answers will be in
the wrong order and you will score only 75%.
Do I have to return
the "Personal Reflection" Journaling Exercises?
1. No.
2 . If
you have a hard copy of the Manual available, read to page 2 or 3 of your Course
Manual.
3 . Find the section entitled, "Personal Reflection" Journaling Activities.
4 . This paragraph clearly indicates that due to the confidential information
contained in the "Personal Reflection" Journaling Exercises "...you will not be
required to provide us with these Journaling Activities. Only the Answer Booklet
is to be returned to the Institute..."
5 . If you are referencing the internet
format, the preceding policy regarding "Personal Reflection" Journaling Activities
is stated on the first page of the Manual Content following the Audio Transcripts.

How will the charge appear on my credit card statement?
The charge will appear on your credit card statement as from the "Healthcare Training

"The website won't take the last three digits
of my credit card."
1. Only enter in the digits that appear
on the front of your card
2. You don't need to enter the 'authorization'
three digits that only appear on the back of your card.
3. Do not put any
spaces or dashes between the numbers of your credit card.

#7. Continuing Education (CE) Approvals
After reading your CE Approvals page my question is still not answered.
1. If you cannot find your profession and/or state in CE
Approvals, your state either does not accept home study or accepts less than
10 hours of home study.
2. Click CE Regulations to
access your profession's CE requirements.
3. We do not propose to be the
definitive sources of CE Approval information. The telephone number of your board
may be found on the CE Approvals page. Please call
your Board for answers to specific questions that cannot be found in CE
Approvals or CE Regulations.
Is the
course approved for Ethics hours in my state?
1. Click CE
Approvals, locate your state and profession on this screen, if your state does not accept our ethics credits, it will be indicated here. However, as you are aware, State Boards change their requirements without notice, and a change may have occurred since we last updated the information for your state and profession. Therefore, we have provided your Board's phone number to verify their acceptance of not only ethics hours, but other hours as well.
2. All Ethics courses are listed on the Courses & Cost page. They are also listed under "Ethics," where a separate "Ethics" link provides a unified list of all of our ethics courses which are also located under various topics on the Courses & Cost page.
When is my CE Deadline?
1. Each state sets a different continuing education deadline date
for different professions.
2. Many deadlines are listed by clicking CE
Approvals
3. If you have any other questions regarding the requirements
in your state, call your Board. The phone number is listed at CE

Validity of Certificate: Would a certificate on the
website be equally valid to one received in the mail?
1. Your web
certificate has a date, your name, the course name and number of CE�s earned,
and your order number.
2. This is the required information for a continuing
education certificate.
3. Your order number on your certificate verifies
your payment and completion of the course with a score of 80% or higher.

Why
do I need my Order Number?
Your Order Number or credit
card authorization code verifies your payment and is needed to receive an online
certificate.
What if I lose my
Order Number?
As long as you run a hard copy of your Answerbooklet
and mail it to us with the same name as the name that was on the original order,
we will be able to locate you in our database, and mail you a certificate without
a order number.
When do I receive an Authorization Code
and when do I receive a Order Number?
1. Both numbers are
equally valid for receiving a certificate.
2. When you enter your credit
card number at checkout you are electronically
issued a Payment Authorization Code, which you can use to get a certificate online.
3. When you call our Order Taking Service, listed on the Order Form, and
give your credit card number you will be given a Order Number, which you
can use to get a certificate online.
4. In summary...

Codes are generated by the secure Credit Card Merchant system.
b. Order
Numbers are generated by our Order Data Base once the Order Taking Service Operator
has entered your order and successfully processed your credit card charge.

I ordered
the Audio Format. Can I switch to do the same course I ordered and take the internet
format on the web?
Yes, just enter in your payment authorization
code or order number to get an online certificate or one mailed to you
via first-class mail. If selecting first-class mail, allow 48 hours processing
time plus 3-5 days for first-class mail delivery of your certificate.
I can't figure out how to do the course online.

Do I have to do my internet format
course all in one session?
1. No - you can print the course content
and Answer Booklet to complete at your leisure.
2. However, the website will
not save your answers from session to session.
3. To save the answers from
session to session, programs known as "cookies" need to reside on your computer.
Some computers will not accept "cookies", therefore these customers could not
view the Course Content pages. For this reason, we do not use "cookies" which
would facilitate the saving of your answers.
Can I order one
course in the internet format course and a second different course in the audio
format?
Yes, you need to make two separate orders, specifying �internet
format� for one, and �audio format� for the other one. Since ordering two different
formats requires two separate processings, the 5% discount does not apply.

#11. Audio Orders
My
CE deadline is soon and I ordered the Audio Format.
1. Take your
course online by clicking Home & Courses. Follow
the procedure in FAQ #1 "How the Course Works."
2. If you do not
want to take the course on the internet, prior to mailing via First Class Mail,
put today's date on the bottom of the cover of their Answer Booklet. We will back
date your certificate, since that was the actual date of course completion.
3. Do not mail your Answer Booklet via any form of special, certified, or express
mail. This will cause processing delays due to the special pick-up at the window
required by the post office. However, first-class mail is deposited directly into
our P.O. Box and picked up daily. Special window pickups that require standing
in line are only conducted on a 7 to 14 day cycle

#12. Payment
I bought
the course a long time ago. Can I still get a certificate?
Yes,
there is no expiration date on course materials.
Will I receive
a receipt?
1. If you provide a valid email address, you will receive
a receipt via email.
2. If you have ordered the audio format, a receipt is
affixed to the outside of the padded envelope which contains your order. The receipt
is enclosed in a clear plastic shipping envelope affixed to the padded envelope.
I do not have a credit card number.
1. We operate
on a cash basis only.
2. No credit is extended, which would result in issuing
a billing statement.
3. If you do not have a credit card number, you might
write a check and follow the directions given on the Order
Form.
Can I pay by check?
1. Yes.�You can send
a check with the Order Form on the back of our brochure; print the Order
Form; or merely write your name, address, and course name on a piece of paper
included with your check and mail to the address below.
2 . Or you can print
a hard copy of a completed Answer Booklet page and send a check for the course

How
long will it take to get my Internet format course?
1. There is
no shipping time because you take the Course over the internet and nothing is
sent to you, unless you choose to have your Certificate sent via First Class mail.
2. If you choose the Audio Format, from the time your order is placed, your
order is shipped within 48 hours, via first -class mail.�
3. You will receive
your order approximately 3-5 days after it is shipped, provided there are no problems
with the U.S. mail, depending upon the time for the mail from Indiana to where
you reside.

I have
completed the Audio Formatted Course. How should I return the Answer Booklet?

3. Window pick-ups are only made on a 7-14 day cycle.
Your
brochure stated I would receive my order in 48 hours, but it took a week for me
to get it.
1. The brochure states the order will be "shipped
within 48 hours", not that you will receive your order in 48 hours.
2. You need to allow time for shipping from Indiana via first-class mail,
assuming there are no problems with the U.S. Mail.�

Why do I need my Authorization Code or Order Number?
